We’ve all done that double take where you look at someone and think to yourself “do they work here or are they just visiting?”
From a visitor management viewpoint, a visitor identification badge is an object that labels anyone gaining access to your facility who is not an employee. Most regulatory and compliance standards require that visitors wear and return a badge during their visit to clearly identify the purpose of their visit and the host they’re assigned to. If you have no regulatory requirements, badges make visitors feel welcome by the company while communicating to them that their experience and safety is essential.
Your lobby is the first line of defense against unwanted visitors trying to access your building. Visitor management systems are a great way to vet the visitors at your facility. If a person checking in fails a health screening, doesn’t sign the documents you require, refuses to complete any other steps of their orientation process or is simply an unwanted solicitor, that person will be denied access to your facility and will not receive a badge. Safeguard your employees from having awkward conversations while dismissing unwanted or ill visitors and allow the kiosk to do it for you. Any person inside your building with a visible badge will signal to your employees that the company is aware of their presence and they have completed their check-in process.
Schedule a DemoGiving badges to visitors may already be a process that you have in place at your facility. Most manufacturing facilities typically require some level of visitor training and expectations of conduct and PPE compliance but struggle to gain consistent implementation by their own team members when checking in a visitor. Streamlining the visitor check-in process will not only ensure that every visitor is consistently provided with the correct procedures and a badge, but it will also take away the manual lift of an employee writing one out for every visitor, or potentially forgetting to do so.
Badges are a quick way to provide your employees with visual information that allows them to identify this person as a visitor, and know their name, visitor type, host name etc. Although, should you determine that certain visitor types don’t require a badge such as delivery personnel or solicitors, you can toggle that feature off. The kiosk is completely customizable so not only can you determine which visitor types should receive a badge, you can also determine what information the badges need to contain. For even more flexibility, choose what information displays on each type of badge, including visitor name, photo, company they’re with, host, check-in time, required check-out time, visitor type and even your logo!
Visitors can receive a pre-registration link that allows them to sign any legal documents, watch videos and have their photo taken before they arrive. This way, you know who you’re expecting and the visitor understands your company's expectations. When a pre-registered visitor arrives all they need to do is enter their phone number into the kiosk and their badge automatically prints!

If you have a DYMO® LabelWriter® 450 Turbo, our customers have found most generic labels are compatible. However, they will not work on the newer DYMO® LabelWriter® 550 Turbo version which requires authentic labels. Using generic labels in the 550 Turbo printer will cause a paper jam due to the automatic label recognition technology it uses.
